Narsampet/Parkal: Two gangs of inter-state thieves stealing motor bikes were caught in separate incidents at Narsampet and Parkal in the district on Thursday. Two minors, one MBA graduate and one computer hardware engineer were among those arrested by the police.
At Narsampet the police have arrested a gang of three persons Vinay, MBA graduate, Kiran, hardware engineer, and Venkateshwarlu, a mason worker. They belong to Khanapuram village under Gudur police circle. They were caught by a team of police lead by CI Rajesekhara Raju and SI Ganapathi Naresh during a routine vehicle inspection on the day. Narsampet DSP, KGV Saritha told press persons that the trio were habituated to lavish life and started stealing the vehicles to earn pocket money.
They used to sell the stolen vehicles at throw away prices as low as Rs 10, 000 per piece. They committed thefts in Hyderabad, Warangal, Khammam and Mahabubabad. The police have recovered 13 two-wheelers worth about Rs 5.50 lakhs. At Parkal, the CI Venkateshwarlu and SI Sadulla Baba informed that a gang of thieves (all minors) was caught during a vehicle inspection at Chalivagu on the day. They belong to Eturunagaram village and one of them was already booked in a criminal case. The police recovered 10 two wheelers and one auto rickshaw worth about Rs 4 lakh from them.
