Narsapur (West Godavari): Protesting against division of State, members of the Toorpu Kapu community participated in hunger strike at Narasapur on Sunday. The Samaikyandhra JAC has been organising the fast camp since August 1.

A group of 25 protestors including women arrived at the fast camp in a procession. The agitators raised slogans against UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi for clearing Telangana State. The protestors portrayed her as demon in a huge flexi exhibited at the camp. Raju, a physically challenged person, voluntarily took part in the fast. JAC convenor Andey Ranga Rao, members Tammisetti Babjee, Chenna Ramesh, Shaik Bulli Mastan, JAC advisor Polisetti Vasudeva Rao and others patted the community members for expressing solidarity to Samaikyandhra movement.

‘Samaikya’ slogans at marriage functions

Gudivada (Krishna): Gudivada town has turned into centre stage in the agitation against Telangana with people voluntarily joining the stir. Even in some marriage functions held on Sunday, people raised slogans in favour of Telangana. Rallies, human chains, ‘Vanta-varpu’, effigy-burning and other protests rocked the town on 12th day of agitation. Iron scrap workers, construction workers, carpenters and other work force actively took part in the protest programmes. Local MLA Kodali Nani joined the agitation by extending helping hand at ‘Vanta-varpu’ agitation. Protestors consecrated statue of Potti Sriramulu at Vasavi Chowk. The relay fast by Congress leaders entered sixth day at Nehru Chowk.
