Chandni Srinivasan, National Rank No 2 in AITA U12 ranking will join Shruthi Ahalawat from Haryana and Durganshi from Delhi, to represent the country. At the age of 8, Chandni started playing Tennis while studying in Bhavan's School, Sainikpuri. Very punctual and hardworking, she has taken to tennis as a mission impressing her coaches with sincerity.

When she was 9-years-old she played her first tournament in Hyderabad and won it. After playing various tournaments: Local, APLTA/TSTA and AITA, she now regularly competes in U12 and U14 categories. She played her first AITA Tournament and reached the quarterfinal almost 3 years ago.

One of her notable success has been Under 12 Super Series Tournament in Jassowal where she reached the Quarterfinals. She is a very consistent performer and she has defeated many players from U14 on a regular basis.

Her competitive abilities in 2018 started yielding results and in the 1st week of April, she won Triple Title in AITA Championship Series in Karnal. She won Under 12 and Under 14 Singles and Under 14 Doubles. She and her partner Sukhmani Bhandari were Runner up in the Asian Under 14 Doubles held in Gurgaon in mid-April.

A dedicated student and a focused learner, Chandni's consistency and brilliant match play finally brought her glory at the Under 12 National Championship held in May 2018 in Mumbai.

Chandni reached the final without losing a single set and in the process toppled the top seed in the semi-final. She was Runner up to Tejasvi Dabas.

Post the Under 12 Nationals she has been performing well and she is ranked No 2 at All India Level in Under 12 category. She is ranked 35 in Under 14 category.

She says, “I am thankful to AITA for selecting me to represent the country. I believe in 3Ps that is- Perseverance, Patience and Perspiration. There is no substitute for hard work". She has been trained by many coaches, but her father continues to chart her career from her early days, both as her coach and guide.

She is presently studying in Mohun's Grammar School Malakpet. The Principal of the School says that the School is very proud of her and the school will do everything to support her. There is 60 more days for Asian Under 12 Final Round to be held in Kazakhstan. Chandni and her team are working hard to stand on the podium as winners and are practicing diligently to bring glory for the country.

Post Asian Championship she is eyeing Under 14 Nationals to be held in Delhi. She shares, “I want to become a champion tennis player, a journey which will demand dedication, hard work, smart strategy and good wishes.”
She also want to become a Doctor.
