Anita Dongre, the Indian fashion designer, who has left no stone unturned in the designing industry has set her mark with new movement #AndiRise. With this movement being a platform for women from different walks of life to share stories, the initiative also celebrates strength these women have shown through all adversities in their life. A conversation on fashion at her Hyderabad store was attended by fashionista and actress Samantha.

Speaking about the spring summer collection the designer shares, “The collection for spring and summer at AND are very soft and in pastels. It has lot of linen and easy fabrics. We are doing a lot of eco-friendly fabrics. Over all, it is a happy summer wear. And the colour for this summer as you can see is shades of whites with prints.”

With floral prints trending these days, most women prefer and choose to wear these prints. Anita says, “Summer is the best time to wear floral and I think that now be it winter or summer these floral prints are trending.”

Fashion keeps changing from time to time and so giving out tips for the young women she shares, “Follow your own style, don’t be blind and follow some film star because you like the way she looks. Wear clothes that suit your body type and personality and be your own self.”

Handloom has been in the fashion news since a long time now. Regarding the handloom industry the designer says, “I think it is very important for all of us and especially the younger generation to buy handloom.” “I work constantly with weavers in Andhra Pradesh and today after meeting Samantha, I think she will be introducing me with more clusters, whom I can work with.”

On visiting Hyderabad, she relates, “I think this is one of the most amazing cities in India; there is so much growth and development here. The women really want to follow fashion,. I think there is a lot of love here with good food and happiness.”
