The seventh edition of ‘Women of India Organic Festival’ was inaugurated at Sampradaya Vedika, Shilparamam in Hyderabad. The five-day organic festival hosted by the ministry of Women and Child development is a platform that gives opportunity for women farmers to exhibit their products that they have grown in their villages.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony actress Amala Akkineni who was the chief guest said, “It is an honour to see women farmers here. I would like to congratulate all the ladies, who have come here to participate in this exhibition. Last year we went to a village to do farm work, and I fell sick after working for just one day.

I had a back pain because of the work. I know how the farmers struggle and grow crops for livelihood. It is our duty to encourage them by purchasing what is exhibited by women from different states in India.” The Women of India Organic Festival is being held annually in New Delhi since the year 2015. As the growing interest of organic farming increases, the festival enters Hyderabad.

Farmers from different states showcase their produce at the festival. Many natural and organic food can be found here. About 150 women from across India came together for participating in the event and they seemed enthusiastic on receiving good response from the people who visited on the first day of the festival.

With most affordable prices when compare to the market price these farmers offer a range of skin care products, food, handmade cloths, bags, chocolates, spices, bakery items, seeds, grains etc; this festival is definitely a must visit place in order to encourage and purchase products directly from the farmers.

The Food Court, which made its debut in Delhi in 2018 was a resounding success. As an encore, visitors to Shilparamam too, will get the chance to explore different cuisines at the food court, which promises to offer a wide variety of sumptuous and freshly-cooked delights. Do join us to support and encourage women farmers and entrepreneurs in their journey towards self reliance and be part of their collective celebration. The timings of the festival are 10am to 10pm
