Rare honour for University of Hyderabad

Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, University of Hyderabad, ranked second among India's Top Biotech Schools by BioSpectrum Survey 2013. The parameters that were considered for ranking in the ninth BioSpectrum top Biotech Schools Survey included Faculty, Industry Interaction, Infrastructure and Placements. Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, is at No 1 position. University of Hyderabad is ranked no 2 followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi at no 3. University of Hyderabad continued to be on top of the list for the infrastructure parameter, followed by Institute of Chemical Technology at second place and Tezpur University, Assam, at third place. In industry-interaction parameter, University of Hyderabad topped the table. Institute of Chemical Technology and Jawaharlal Nehru University stand at second and third places respectively. In all, 43 institutes (14 public and 29 private) which are offering BTech, MSc/MTech, PhD courses in Biotechnology from nine states have participated in the ninth BioSpectrum Top 20 Biotech Schools Survey 2013.
