Senior students of Gitam University provided an opportunity to the freshers to shed their inhibitions and gel with them. It was a memorable day for the first year BTech students of Gitam University. The events organised as a part of the celebrations saw huge participation from all the departments and it helped juniors break ice with the seniors who are otherwise feared for various reasons. The seniors on the other hand were rejuvenated with lot of energy as the day left them with a treasure of memories to cherish.

The events organised as a part of the celebrations saw huge participation from all the departments and it helped juniors break ice with the seniors who are otherwise feared for various reasons. The seniors on the other hand were rejuvenated with lot of energy as the day left them with a treasure of memories to cherish.

The management of Gitam was generous in allowing the students to have fun within limits in the presence of faculty. Various events were conducted which include singing, solo and group dancing, ramp walk, theatre arts, instrumental music, poetry and mimicry.

Dr Ch.Sanjay, director exhorted the students to make utilise the facilities like Knowledge Resource Centre, Digital Library, wi-fi network, Modern Computer labs and inculcate the habit of research oriented thinking. Prof SS Prasada Rao, Dean, HBS advised the students to imbibe innovative thinking.
DVVSR Varma, Resident Director emphasised the need of discipline and distributed mementos, prizes to the winners and participants of various events. Dr B Basavaraja, Vice Principal explained the consequences of ragging and how their lives were at stake. Dr K Manjunadhachari, Dr M Venu, Dr M Akkalakshmi and other HoDs and faculties of all departments also participated in this occasion and guided the students.
