Hyderabad: A unique innovation by students of Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology will be an answer to pollutant emitting cars using fossil fuels. "Solar Car" is all set to ease the common problem of today’s time, which is Air-Pollution. The eco-friendly innovation named Lord's Solar Car, is designed using aero-dynamic design, has a battery to recharge the solar cells and the most unique feature of all is that it’s a three-tyre car.

The students designed a compact sized solar car with light weighted chassis. The car can be used extensively in malls, stores, airports, railway stations, golf parks, stadiums, etc. It uses a motor of maximum power of 2kw and operating voltage maximum 48 volts and 4kw/h capacity batteries.
Using of solar panels made students work easily with unique steering and independent mechanical braking system; smart disc braking has been applied to all the 3 wheels.
The vehicle is designed considering all safety measurements under the motor, suspensions, steering, braking and power transmission systems. Application of kill switches provides easy way to solve issues generated under the safety measure.
The students idea has been shortlisted and they are all all set to compete among 108 participants from all over India at ESVC (Electric & Solar Vehicle Competition) being organised by Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIE) in Maharashtra in March 2016.
Students of Lords Institute of Engineering & Technology said that their aim is not just to participate in the event but want to send out a message that using the sun’s energy makes this world a better place unlike fossil fuels which are causing harm and polluting the environment.
