Hyderabad: Top analysts such as IDC, Forrester and Gartnerhave predicted that investments in Artificial Intelligence will grow at 40% annual rate. Such growth in investments make Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning a hyper growth sector for job opportunities. Based on data from job portals such as LinkedIn, it is evident that AIand Machine Learning have consistently topped the list of most desired skills.

To address this challenge, NIT Warangal and CSI have come together to launch a certificate program in AI and machine learning for working professionals in Hyderabad. This certification program will comprise over 350 hours of classroom and lab sessions, mentoring sessions, workshops and hackathons. The session commences on June 9 in Hyderabad for an initial batch of 60.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Ramana Rao, Director of NIT Warangal said, “E&ICT Academy of NIT, Warangal has partnered with SIG Big Data Analytics of CSI to launch a certificate program in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning exclusively for working professionals.

This is first step in leveraging academic and industry resources to upskill people in the fields of Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, IoT, Data Mining, Security and Privacy. As the Director of NIT, Warangal, I am looking forward to set up various centers of excellence and R&D Labs along with training in emerging technologies including AI and ML in the near future.”

“This is a practitioner-oriented, real-world driven and week-end only immersive program. We built an industry-relevant curriculum with the inputs from industry experts and academia.”

stated Chandra Dasaka, Secretary of CSI’s SIGBDA “As execution partner for this program, we have segmented targeted working professionals into upskilling, cross-skilling and reskilling and identified relevant career transformation partners. In lieu of a capstone project which is a norm, we have put together a special 4 weekend module that exclusively focuses on use cases derived from actual industry projects.”, said Surya Putchala, CEO of Zettamine Labs.

“Computing power, connectivity, sensors and algorithms are the four big things that have contributed to AI’s current emergence. Even though AI takes away many existing jobs, it also creates more jobs than the jobs it replaces. Gartner has predicted recently that 2.3 million people are needed to work on AI applications by 2022.

India suffers in quality of university education and building ecosystems of multi-disciplinary stakeholders. This AIML program by NITW and CSI-SIGBDA will address both of these challenges.” said Shri BVR Mohan Reddy, Chairman of Cyient.

“Healthcare, agriculture and human capital are the three areas that AI can make big impact in India. By kicking off this program, you are bridging the gaps in leveraging India’s largest natural resources in human capital.” said Ms. Karuna Gopal, president of Foundation for Future Cities.
