The return of Motorola Razr as a folding phone has been anticipated since the first rumours appeared this year earlier, and a confirmation of its arrival came shortly after. Lenovo-owned company is sending invitations for an event in Los Angeles, California, scheduled for November 13, where it is expected to reveal the Razr folding phone. The phone may be called the Razr 2019, would give competition to the Huawei Mate X and the Samsung Galaxy Fold with its foldable design. Earlier this year, A Motorola VP confirmed plans to launch a folding phone without specifying its specifications and its relationship with the iconic Razr brand, which was once known for offering premium-looking phones.

The circulated media invite by Motorola includes a GIF that suggests a phone folded and unfolded, as per CNet reports. It highlights that it's about a "reinvented icon" that could be none other than the rumoured Motorola Razr 2019.

The invite reads, "An original unlike any other." It also reminds of the previous Razr models by reportedly mentioning, "You're going to flip", suggesting the comeback of the Razr brand.

Notably, Motorola is one of the first few firms that has shown its interest in foldable phones. Dan Dery, VP of Global Product in an interview in February, had confirmed the plans for a foldable phone.

"We started to work on foldables a long time ago," Dery had said in the interview. "And we have been doing a lot of iteration."

Besides, the executive also mentioned that Motorola would try a different approach from Samsung and Huawei take on while manufacturing their foldable phones, to put a single flexible display that folds twice and comes with a dual-hinge design.

August report claimed that the Razr 2019 foldable phone would debut in Europe sometime in December 2019 or January 2020 with a price tag of around Rs. 1,19,000. It may resemble the concept renders created by Sarang Sheth of Yanko Design. The renders suggest similar builds like the earlier Razr phones and the presence of a secondary display at the front.

When it comes to the specifications, the Motorola Razr 2019 is supported with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, combined with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The handset will have a 6.2-inch (876x2142 pixels) folding display alongside a secondary display of 600x800 pixels resolution.
