Mulugu: With the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is slated to inaugurate the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) on June 21, the police have intensified combing in the forest fringe villages on Telangana-Chhattisgarh border.
Following speculation that there is a possibility of CPI-Maoists entering Telangana villages adjacent to Kaleshwaram from the Chhattisgarh side, the police is taking no chances.
Besides intensifying combing in the nearby forests, the police escalated vehicle checks in Eturnagaram, Mangapet, Kannaigudem and Tadvai mandals.
They have also laid special focus on Gothi Koya community which by and large migrated from Chhattisgarh.
