As the nomination process for the second phase of ZPTC and MPTC elections in district has come to end, all parties are focusing on their strengths and calculating their winning chances.
Vikarabad: As the nomination process for the second phase of ZPTC and MPTC elections in district has come to end, all parties are focusing on their strengths and calculating their winning chances.
After winning in the assembly elections in Vikarabad district, and the subsequent panchayat elections, the TRS party is eying clean sweep in the forthcoming parishad polls. So, the party meticulously selected the candidates in all respects.
The names of candidates contesting from the TRS have been accepted at the meetings of the party workers and main leaders. The names of the candidates who were considered to be the winners were almost finalised. Former minister Mahendar Reddy, who is in charge for the elections has been conducting meetings with main leaders of mandal and finalised the list.
On the other hand, the Congress party is also trying to give tough competition to the ruling party. In the recent Assembly elections, Congress had won only one seat. Based on this win, the party is hoping positive response from the voters and making all the necessary preparations for this election. The party's MLA from the district, Rohit Reddy, is the head and he is looking after the candidates to win the elections.
The MLA convened a meeting with the main leaders to discuss the places, where possibility of winning is more. The final list is already finalized. But official names of the candidates are to be announced. The polling will be held on May 10 in the second phase of the 53 MPTC seats.
