As Godavari water reaches Suryapet, Jagadish celebrates Diwali with elated farmers
Showing his affection towards the farming community, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy celebrated the Diwali festival with farmers near Sriram Sagar distributary canal-71 in Kotyanaik Thanda of Athmakur (s) mandal and near Dhramapuram village pond in Penpahad mandal in the district on Sunday.
Suryapet: Showing his affection towards the farming community, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy celebrated the Diwali festival with farmers near Sriram Sagar distributary canal-71 in Kotyanaik Thanda of Athmakur (s) mandal and near Dhramapuram village pond in Penpahad mandal in the district on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the dream of bringing Godavari waters to Suryapet was realized before Diwali as assured earlier and all the credit goes to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who paid special attention towards shifting Godavari waters to Suryapet through Kaleshwaram project.
He informed that farmers of Chivemla, Athmakur (S) and Penpahad were celebrating the actual Diwali with great fervor as they were getting the irrigation waters through Sriram Sagar project canal.
He promised the ayacut farmers of providing sufficient water though the SRSP canals.
