Nagarkurnool: The Red Cross Society of India conducted an awareness drive for students on the significance of blood donation and organ donation at a programme organised at Government Boys Junior College in Nagarkurnool district on Friday.

As part of the programme, the Red Cross Society organisers registered the newly established Youth Red Cross society of the college and enrolled students as members of the society and urged them to actively take part in the social activities.

While speaking on the occasion, chief guest Nodal officer for Intermediate Education Nagarkurnool district Venkat Ramana said that the students must inculcate the habit of extending their helping hand to the society at the young age and must grow as citizens with highest values of this country.

"It is praise-worthy that the Red Cross Society of India has taken the initiative of spreading awareness on blood donation and organ donation. Particularly the youth must take part in these two novel programmes and extend their helping hand for the good cause of the society. Inculcating social values at the youngest age will help the students grow as citizens with highest values," said Venkat Ramana.

Ramchandra Reddy, Principal Boys Govt Junior College, Narasimhulu Senior Lecturer, Ramesh Reddy, district Red Cross society Secretary, D Kumar, Youth Red Cross society coordinator and others participated in the programme.
