Forest officials suspect that the bear could have died due to dehydration as there is no adequate water available in the forest

Narayanpet: A dead body of a bear was found in Madwar village of Marikal mandal in Narayanpet district on Thursday. According to villagers of Madwar, the bear was found dead in farmlands of a farmer.

"The bear was lying dead in a farmland. When some of the villagers found the dead body of the wild animal, they were scared and informed the Forest department. We came and shifted the bear for post-mortem examination," said a forest range officer.

It is said suspected that the bear could have died due to ill health. As it is summer and there is no adequate water available in the forest, there is a possibility that it may have died of dehydration, said the forest officials. However, they said the real cause of death can be ascertained only after the post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the death of the bear has raised a lot of questions about the safety of other wild animals in the forest. As the temperatures are rising every day and as there is a lack of shade and water availability in the forest, there are possibilities of other wild animals meeting the same fate, observed general public. They demanded the forest officials to take immediate action to ensure water is provided to the wild animals in the forest as there is a need to protect them from the increasing heat and rising temperatures.
