Manuguru (Kothagudem): Bhadradri Thermal Power Station (BTPS) first unit's boiler was lighted up on Monday. The TS Genco Chairman and Managing Director, D Prabhakar Rao, has attended the programme and offered prayers before lighting up the boiler.
Later speaking to media, the CMD said the plant would be completed by the end of December.
He stated that the power station construction would have been completed much earlier had not been a petition filed before the National Green Tribunal against the project.
He informed that three units of the BTPS would start power generation by December end and the fourth unit might start power production by March next year.
He appreciated the BTPS and BHEL engineers for completing first unit works speedily. BTPS Chief Engineer Balaraju, Genco directors Lakshmaiah and Sachitanandam, Chief Engineer Sammaiah and others were present.
