Charlapally: A scientific methodology should be evolved for reforming prisoners, observed DIG of Prisons M R Bhaskar here on Wednesday. Inaugurating 'Regional Refresher Classes' organised at the Central Prison here, he called for inculcation of moral and human values in prisoners after their release.

'Efforts should be made to scientifically analyse their problems and solve them. They should be brought back from ignorance to light and their lonely feeling should be banished,' he stressed.

In his address, Superintendent of the Prison M Sampath pointed out that holding of such classes would pave the way for introspection and yield good results. He explained the working of the department personnel from the level of Warder to Deputy Jailor, how to improve staff knowledge, methods of reducing prisoner deaths, ushering in corruption-free jails, establishment of new industries in prisons, 'Vidyadhan Yojana'.

Sampath stated that efforts should made to spread the departments capabilities. Eighty officials and staff from Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Hyderabad districts and Charlapally Agriculture Centre and those from other jails attended the classes under the leadership of Sammayya, Chintala Dasaratham, Ramakrishna, Devi Singh, Mogilesh and Jyothishwar Reddy.
