Telangana: A case has been registered against BJP chief Bandi Sanjay and some of the party leaders for violating lockdown. The party chief failed to maintain physical distance during his visit to Nagarjuna Sagar constituency in Nalgonda district on Tuesday.

Hence, the Peddavura police registered a case against Sanjay and other leaders under section 188 (Disobedience to order promulgated by a public servant) of the Indian Penal Code. Bandi Sanjay visited Utlapally village of Peddavura Mandal in Nalgonda to meet sweet lime farmers. He learned about the farmer's issues and assured of help. Further, the BJP chief asked the government to buy sweet limes from the farmers as they are worried about the sales.

It is learned that Sanjay and the party leaders failed to maintain physical distance due to the presence of the huge crowd and are organizing gatherings against the rules.

District Superintendent of Police AV Ranganath said that cases will be registered against those who violate the lockdown rules based on the guidelines and restrictions issued by the state government on May 7.
