Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Dr. S.K. Joshi informed that 71,136 enumerators would be appointed to gather data as part of Census 2021.

The Chief Secretary on Monday held a meeting with the senior officials to review the preparations for Census 2021. Special Chief Secretaries Rajeshwar Tiwari, Shanti Kumari and Aadhar Sinha, Panchayat Raj Secretary Vikas Raj, Census Operations Director Alambarti, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Education Dept Secretary Janardhan Reddy and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary said that the first phase of training for 65 Master Trainers has been completed and the second phase would continue till December 7. He nearly 2,000 Field Trainers would be trained by January 2020. They will train the enumerators and supervisors in the month of April. He said in addition to population, the information would also be collected regarding social, language, the cultural and economic profile of people.
