Siddipet: District Collector Krishna Bhasker on Monday expressed confidence that they would be able to conduct Lok Sabha elections peacefully with the coordination of all departments.

He held a press meet on the ensuing Lok Sabha elections along with DRO Chandrasekhar and said that notification would be released on March 18 and last date for filing the nominations would be March 25. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is March 28 and election would be held on April 11, said the Collector.

According to Krishna Bhasker, there are four Assembly segments in the district of which three are under Medak Parliamentary constituency and Husnabad is under Karimnagar constituency.

Medak District Collector Darma Reddy will act as the returning officer (RO) for Medak parliamentary seat and Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed will be RO for Karimnagar.

Krishna Bhasker said they would be bringing mark-2 EVMs from Uttar Pradesh. As many as 8,99,210 voters are there in the district of which 4,52,430 are female and 4,46,764 male.
