Complete voter verification drive before the commencement of civic polls, Collectors told in Nagarkurnool

Nagarkurnool: Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar, while speaking to all the District Collectors in erstwhile Mahbubnagar district on Wednesday, had directed them to conduct the voter verification drive in their respective districts and complete it in the target period, before the commencement of the municipal elections.

The CEO observed that the voter verification drive must be conducted thoroughly sans errors. He also directed the Collectors to consider the fresh voter applications if any and carryout thorough verification before registering in the voters' list. Similarly, the CEO also asked the district administration to clear the pending applications.

"As part of the electoral verification program special summary revision-2020, we have received clear instructions from the CEO to speed up the voter verification program. Already, we have completed 96.34 percent of voter verification in the district and only 3.665 percent is pending because of various reasons like the death of voters, permanent and temporary migration, etc. These will be completed in the next couple of days and instructions have been passed down to the booth level officials," informed the District Collator of Nagarkurnool, E Sridhar.

The Collectors of Mahbubnagar, Gadwal, Wanaparthy, and Narayanpet districts also expressed their readiness with the voter verification and said they were all ready for the arrangements of the upcoming municipal polls.
