Mahbubnagar: With the State police department deciding to provide one day weekly off to the police personnel right from police constables to Circle Inspector cadre, the police personnel in erstwhile Mahbubnagar have expressed their happiness and thanked the respective Superintendents of Police of all five districts of erstwhile Mahbubnagar on Monday.

"This is a long-cherished dream that came true for the police personnel who have been working day in and day out without any rest. Because of work and no rest, many police constables have been feeling stressed. To overcome this and to rejuvenate, the State police department has agreed to give one day weekly off to its staff from constable level to circle inspectors level across the State. This will also be implemented in Wanaparthy district and elsewhere in other parts of erstwhile Mahbubnagar," said Apoorva Rao, SP Wanaparthy.

In Gadwal, SP Laxmi Nayak, in Narayanpet SP Chetana, in Mahbubnagar SP Rema Rajeshwari and in Nagarkurnool SP Shiva Krishna also instructed the concerned police officials to implement the weekly off rule from Monday onwards.

Expressing their gratitude and thanks to Wanaparthy SP, traffic police personnel presented a bouquet and said it will help them work with more enthusiasm. "We have been working 24X7 in the traffic. With the implementation of weekly off, we would be able to spend some quality time with our families and get back to work with renewed enthusiasm," said Koteshwara Rao, traffic SI, Wanaparthy.
