Kothagudem: The police arrested CPM party leaders in Kothagudem on Monday for staging a protest in support of the agitating RTC employees and raising slogans against the State government.

Party's district committee members J Krishna, L Balaraju, B Ramesh and Anil were taken into custody by the police.

CITU district secretary K Sridhar criticised the arrest of CPM leaders and stated that the party leaders were conducting a peaceful protest in support of RTC strike that entered 31st day.

However, police were showing their highhandedness by arresting the agitating leaders.

He demanded the police to immediately release the arrested leaders and alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was diluting the RTC strike with his statements.
