Distribute rice from first of every month: Additional Collector Y Surendar Rao

Mancherial: Additional Collector Y Surendar Rao told the fair price shop dealers to distribute public distribution system (PDS) rice from first of every month.

Speaking at a meeting with ration shop dealers and civil supplies officers at the Collector's conference hall in Mancherial on Tuesday, he said that the government is distributing PDS rice through civil supplies to the poor people to support their families and the supply should go on uninterruptedly and from time to time. He ordered the civil supplies department officials to ensure distribution of rice at MLS points from 25 to 29 of every month.

The dealers were told to return the gunny bags every month and action will be taken on those, who fails to do so, he warned. The Additional Collector also warned not to distribute colour changed and bad rice to Anganwadi centres and to the people.

He told the MLS point organisers to submit godown storage and rice details every month without fail. They were also directed to distribute rice to ration dealers on time. District Civil Supplies Manager Gopal, Dealers and Revenue officer and others were present.
