Wanaparthy: With an aim to ensure transparency and speed up the pace of movement of files from one level to another and from one department to other, the district administration of Wanaparthy launched the e-office system on Wednesday.

Launching the e-office system at the district Collectorate, Collector Swetha Mohanthi said that it would enable the government offices to reduce the use of paper and make the offices paperless.

Moreover, the hassles of file movement from one department to another will be overcome and the new system will help in ensuring transparency and accountability among the office staff.

"The e-office system will come handy for the office staff to easily locate the files. As each and every file is having a chain system we can immediately identify where and in which section the file located is."

"Unlike earlier in manual system where there was scope for hiding the file or missing the file, the e-office system has overcome all such things and it is very well designed to ensure accountability of each and every staff right from the section clerk to the highest officer level," said the Collector.

She said already the State and central governments are making use of this e-office system and achieving good results. Now that it has been introduced in Wanaparthy, the Collector hoped that it would bring drastic changes in the way the officials work with commitment and dedication, she added.

The Collector said that this system would be first implemented in Wanaparthy district Collectorate office and later slowly spread to other mandal level offices in a phased manner. "With e-office, it will not only speed up the work but it will also help improve the efficiency of the staff," said Swetha Mohanthy.

Joint collector Venugupal said that the e-office system is having a host of facilities in it. Based on the priority and urgency, the officials can modify their application accordingly and can send the files based on their priority.

The e-office system is also having digital signature option, where in the authorities can manage their files using digital signatures.

In charge District Revenue Officer Venkataiah, Mahabubnagar NIC officer Satyanarayana Murthy, Technical Director Nagamani and others participated in the programme.
