After being denied pattadar passbook from tehsildar, a farmer from Mahabubabad of erstwhile Warangal district dug a grave and tried to bury self protesting against the revenue official.

Meka Prabhakar Reddy, a native of Ramannagudem village alleged that the tehsildar denied him the passbook though the former is the owner of the land.

Prabhakar and his two brothers inherited the land which was split among three in 2001. However, the farmer claimed that one of his brothers approached a local politician to ensure that Prabhakar does not get the passbook. Despite having patta for 5.26 acres, the tehsildar denied the passbook claiming that the local MLA does not want the farmer to get it, Prabhakar said.

Meanwhile, the joint collector who enquired the incident said that the brothers are having disputes since 2017 due to which passbook has not been issued and it will be issued only with the consent of them.
