Serilingampally: The GHMC sanitation and engineering officials on Friday assured to find a permanent solution to the drainage problem in Nethajinagar following a representation by colony association president Uppari Shekhar Sagar.

Sanitation supervisor of circle 20 Dr Bindu Bhargavi and engineer AE Krishnaveni visited the colony. They said a cleaning machine was used three days back after the association lodged a complaint. However, the problem resurfaced after a day resulting in drainage manhole overflowing and sewerage entering some houses.

The visit of the two officials on Friday was a sequel to a complaint by the association in the circle office seeking permanent steps to solve the problem. The officials assured the association that the overflowing drain would be cleared on Saturday. Among those present during the visit were Sagar, treasurer Mallesh Mudiraj, member Srinivas.
