Hyderabad: Coronavirus cases in GHMC limits alone have crossed 3,125 cases on Friday giving an indication of the effect of the deadly virus in the State capital. More than 70 percent of the total cases in Telangana are from GHMC limits alone comprising Hyderabad and parts of Ranga Reddy and Medchal districts.
In view of the present situation in GHMC, it is no wonder Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan termed it as the epicentre and adjacent districts majorly affected. A central team led by senior IAS Sanjay Jaju is presently in Hyderabad taking stock of the situation and guiding the administration in containing the virus spread.
The infections that were limited to few areas have extended to different parts of the State capital since ease of lockdown restrictions.
Areas like Karwan (274 cases), Santosh Nagar (192), Malakpet (189), Amberpet (179), Goshamahal (159), Nampally (138), LB Nagar (135), Musheerabad (100) etc have reported more than 100 positive cases.
