Government to distribute Bathukamma saris from September 23
Telangana government would start distributing 1.02 crore Bathukamma saris worth Rs 313 crore to womenfolk in the State from September 23.
Hyderabad: Telangana government would start distributing 1.02 crore Bathukamma saris worth Rs 313 crore to womenfolk in the State from September 23.
The Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday released saris, which would be given to women in Telangana. Talking to reporters, the Minister said that the MLAs, MLCs, MPs, ZP Chairpersons would distribute saris to the women on September 23 in all the constituencies.
The Minister further said that the women over 18 years would be given saris. With the government order, the power loom workers in Sircilla got employment opportunities. About 16,000 families got benefitted with the saris order from the government.
There will be ten designs, ten colours and 100 varieties this year and next year there will be 'Bathukamma brand' saris from next year.
