Warangal: There is no dearth of talent in the region, but what that failing youth is lack of facilities and guidance to excel in the career, Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil said.

Speaking at the felicitation of 69 successful candidates who availed coaching in the Telangana State Scheduled Castes Study Circle and secured government jobs here on Friday, he said that the role of parents is something beyond words behind every person's success. The share of parents is 80 per cent in one's success, he added.

With not many industries in and around Warangal, it has become a Herculean task for the youth to get jobs. There was a huge competition for even petty jobs, the Collector said, referring to the petitions the administration receives on every Monday's grievance programme. He told the candidates who got jobs to prepare themselves to serve the people for about three decades.

Stating that he had been receiving a plethora of complaints of people ignoring their parents, he advised the youth not to do so. He also told the new recruits not to forget their roots and help the poor in whatever manner they can. The Collector urged the people to make use of welfare schemes and developmental programmes introduced by the government the upliftment of poor and downtrodden.

"Hard work always pays off," Commissioner of Police V Ravinder said. No matter where you study, if you work hard nothing is impossible, he said, stating that he had his education completely in State-run institutions.

Government job is a huge opportunity to serve people, SC Minorities Commission member Bommala Kattaiah said. Warangal SC Study Circle Director Erragattu Swamy said that they had trained youth on par with the best coaching centres. DFO Ramalingam, SC Development Corporation officer Nirmala, faculty and students were among others present.
