Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali warned some sections of print and electronic media on Saturday to stop publishing and airing false stories against the State government and the Police department.
Hyderabad: Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali warned some sections of print and electronic media on Saturday to stop publishing and airing false stories against the State government and the Police department.
Speaking to the media in his office at Lakdikapul in Hyderabad, the Home Minister said the government is very serious on false propaganda by some sections of media which are publishing reports with false and baseless allegations that irregularities occurring in police transfers and postings.
He said they are going to take legal action on those organisations very soon. He further said if they will not show evidences for their stories which were written to tarnish the image of the State government and Police department then they are going to file a defamation case for crores of rupees against such media organisations and teach them a lesson.
He demanded an open and unconditional apology from those organisations for publishing baseless allegations against the Police department and the government.
The Home Minister further added that the Telangana police is performing their duties efficiently and with free hand without any political interventions and pressures on them.
On the other hand, the Police department too denied the reports in the vernacular print media and condemned it.
Addressing the press conferences separately Additional DG Jitender, Police Commissioners Anjani Kumar (Hyderabad), V C Sajjanar (Cyberabad) and Mahesh M Bhagwat (Rachakonda) denied the reports in the media on the irregularities in Police department regarding the postings and transfers of police personnel and said they are going to file cases and take legal action.
