Hyderabad: Advocate held for cheating techie caught in drunk driving

Assuring a techie in giving bail in a drunk driving case, an advocate was arrested and produced before the court for cheating a techie of Rs 50,000.
Pavan, who works in an MNC, was caught in drunk driving last month at Kukatpally following which he was awarded three-day imprisonment by a court. However, Pavan approached a lawyer for a bail who demanded Rs 50,000.
Pavan gave his Rs 40,000 worth smartwatch and Rs 5,000 cash to the lawyer to grant bail and release his seized car. However, Pavan was sent to jail on August 28 for three days.
He later realised that he was cheated by advocate Bhanu Prasad, following which he approached the police and lodged the complaint. The police arrested the lawyer and sent him to remand.
