Hyderabad: BJP leaders protest at EC office, arrested
Tension prevailed at the state election commission (SEC) office in Hyderabad when the BJP leaders staged a protest accusing the EC of being biased towards the ruling party.
"Fearing of going against the government, teachers are not given the poll today," the BJP leaders said raising slogans against the election commission and the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
They also demanded the arrest of the police personnel for working for the TRS party and to hold the GHMC election in a transparent manner. The leaders also alleged that the police are turning a blind eye when the TRS cadre is distributing money to the people.
Dubbak MLA Raghunandan Rao, MLC Ramachandra Rao and Indrasena Reddy and other leaders tried to barge into the office. However, the police foiled their attempt by arresting them. The BJP leaders were shifted to Goshamahal police station.
