Musheerabad: Former justice of High court Justice Chandra Kumar stressed on the need for making laws for women safety even more stringent in view of increasing atrocities against the weaker gender. He was speaking at a conference organised by Mudra Agricultural skill development state cooperative society limited on the topic 'Let's protect women – Let's respect women', here on Sunday, as part of International Women's Day celebrations.

He stressed on the need for change in the mindset of people who raise no concern on portrayal of women as objects in social media and movies. Being the first teacher for every human being, women plays important role in everyone's life and needs to be respected, he said. He urged women to excel in every field by overcoming small hurdles in the way.

Ramadasappa Naidu, chairman of Mudra, said that half of the directors of the society were women and planning to ensure that half of the staff of the organisation were also women. Later, Chandra Kumar and Ramadasappa felicitated 30 women employees on the occasion.

Board directors Jyothi, R Shanti, G Kotaiah, Tirupathi, CEO Venkateshwarulu, managers of various branches of the organisation and women staff attended the programme.
