Hyderabad: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of RBVRR Women's College organised a two-day national seminar on 'ICT Innovations for Quality Enhancement in Higher Education,' on March 6-7.The seminar was sponsored by ICSSR-SRC and TSCHE.
Higher education plays a critical role in developing human resource or human capital. In the present world of exponential change, higher education faces immense challenges. The HRD policies, accreditation and increased expectations from students and other stakeholders raise immense challenges to higher education institutions in India today. It is in this context that the seminar was organised to leverage ICT technologies for improved education delivery and Governance.
Principal Secretary (IT & Industries) Jayesh Ranjan, who was the chief guest at the inaugural function, emphasised on the need to make use ICT technologies to ensure greater access to higher education. Guests of honour at the event were Prof Limbadri, Vice-Chairman of TSCHE, and Prof Usha Kiran, the Director of ICSSR-SRC.
The chief guest at the valedictory programme was Prof T Papi Reddy, the Chairman of TSCHE. The seminar had a galaxy of eminent speakers from reputed institutions and industry. Prof Kannan Moudgalya, Prof Sahana Murthy from IIT Bombay, Dr Arpita Khare, Director, e-Governance, Centre for Good Governnace, MCR HRDI, Prof Indira Koneru, Associate Dean and Head, e-Leraning, ICFAI Business School, Prof Ajit Kumar Reddy, Prof of Dept of Chemistry (Retd) & Former Coordinator of Teaching-Learning Centre, Prof Ravi Shankar, Program Manager, IIIT, Prof Sharma, IIT Hyderabad, Prof Rekha Pandey, Dept of History, HCU, and Prof P V Sudha, HOD-Computer Science, Osmania University and others were present.
The programme was attended by faculty from various colleges. Papers were presented by the academicians on the theme. Prof Papi Reddy released the conference proceedings of the seminar.
The Secretary of HMVS, Prof Muthyam Reddy, the secretary and correspondent, RBVRR Women's College, Prof Sudarshan Reddy, Principal K Sarada, Vice Principal Dr.Achyuta Devi, and Program Convenor and Coordinator, IQAC, P Vijaya organised the programme.
