Hyderabad: Great progress in ease of living in twin cities
GHMC Commissioner, city police boss and Hyderabad District Collector explain measures and new initiatives to improve life for commoners in the city considerably
Hyderabad: In order to provide better civic amenities to the citizens GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, along with Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar and Hyderabad Collector Swetha Mohanty, conducted a meeting on Thursday.
Lokesh Kumar said that GHMC was taking up several works like formation of new roads, link/parallel roads to reduce traffic load on main roads. It was readying proposals for 450 modern traffic signals, installation of solar power in GHMC offices, junction improvements. He said that the civic body was laying and improving footpaths for a length of 300 km. New footpaths would added and the total length would touch 1000 km in due course. He also mentioned SRDP, 709-km road network under CRMP, lane marking, zeebra crossing, sanitation, Basthi Dawakhanas, 4.4 lakh LED lights as part of measures to improve the overall livability in the twin cities.
Anjani Kumar said the city police was involved and better equipped more than ever to look after subjects like criminal, law & order, traffic and Security, since the city population is more than 1 crore. He said there was much scope of improvement and things to be delivered on time with quality and to keep the city's name on top. "As the Hyderabad is the most happening city in country, much depends on the police personnel in maintain law and order," he said.
Swetha Mohanty, Collector of Hyderabad, said the administration would take all precautionary steps to protect government lands by geo-tagging, and assist in land allotment for developmental activities and women protection issues.
Additional Commissioners Dr Priyanka Ala, Badhavath Santhosh, Rahul Raj PS, Shankaraiah and Vijaya Laxmi, Zonal commissioners P Pravinya Reddy, Srinivas Reddy, Ravi Kiran and Mamatha, Additional CPs Anil Kumar, DS Chauhan, Shikha Goel, CCPs, ACPs and other senior officials attended the meeting.
