Hyderabad: Union Minister for MSME Nitin Gadkari said that the Center is committed to saving the MSME sector hit by the Covid lockdown.

The Minister interacted with the representatives of the MSME sector from Telangana through a webinar organised by the State BJP on Monday.

In a statement, the State BJP said that the Minister had explained various schemes rolled out by the Center for the benefit of the MSME sector.

State BJP presidnet Bandi Sanjay Kumar participating in the webinar highlighted the problems faced by the sector in Telangana.

He said the programme was organised to take the problems of various sectors to the notice of the Centre.

The participants highlighted that banks are not bothered about the three months moratorium on the payment of interest on the term and capital loans announced by the Centre.

They urged the Minister to extend the period of the moratorium for a period of six months.

Similarly, they asked the Minister to extend the time for the payment of GST, income tax and other taxable payments.

Further, they suggested extending more relaxations that includes announcing a bailout package for the sector.

Responding to the demands Nitin Gadkari said that the Centre is looking into the issues being faced by the MSME sector and it is committed to protecting it.
