It is important to expose children to research activities early on. They may not understand everything, but they will have lifelong memories of what they see or listen during their interactions - BS Murthy, Director, IIT-Hyderabad

Barkas: Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMRIES) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) to help students expose to research.

Director of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Hyderabad BS Murthy has visited TMR Junior College Barkas Boys-1 in Barkas on Friday.

On the occasion, Murthy inspired and motivated the young students to learn science and provided them with brief exposure to the latest research and innovation activities at IIT Hyderabad, which are impacting the society and industry. He also gave an insight into path-breaking research work, new initiatives, student projects and the advanced facilities and laboratories established at IIT Hyderabad.

Addressing the students, Murthy said, "It is important to expose children to some of these research activities early on. They may not understand everything, but they will have life-long memories of what they see or hear during their interactions."

He shared his experiences with the students. Students should never come to IIT just to get good offers, but to become good engineer, he said. They should have a vision to achieve it, he added. He briefed the students about the on-going research on artificial intelligence, robotics and nano technology.

In his remarks he wrote, "It is exciting to meet students here. I wish that all their dreams and aspirations come true."
