Hyderabad: The Special Operation Team (SOT) of Cyberabad Police Commissionerate and officers of Madhapur Zone in a joint operation arrested a notorious interstate criminal gang native of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand States.

The gang was allegedly involved in ten burglaries in the States of Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Police have recovered gold ornaments weighing 600 grams, silver items weighing 2 kgs and two four-wheelers, all worth of Rs 35 lakh.

The arrested accused were identified as Aditya Kumar (34), Munniraj Rajaura (47), Surendra Kumar Sharma (63) and Pankaj Chowdary (32).

According to Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, accused persons once in a year leave their houses to commit theft and come towards South India.

They select a house to commit theft and enter into the house with a bag posing as purchasers of flats. If they found any flat locked, they break open it with a specially prepared rod and rob gold ornaments, silver items and also net cash.

Like so, after committing offence in one place, they move to another State and commit offences. They change the vehicle number depending on which State they currently move to commit robbery. They change the number plates back to original after committing the offence.

Since 2015, the accused persons committed several day house burglaries in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh.

On reliable information, the SOT along with Bachupally Police went to Uttar Pradesh and arrested the accused persons on 30 September.
