Sathupalli (Khammam): Local MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah has released water to the Vemsoor mandal from Bethupally pond on Tuesday.
The water would irrigate around 8,000 acres in the mandal this Kharif, informed the MLA. MPPs D Hymavathi, P Venkateswarlu, ZPTCs Sumalatha, K Ramarao attended the programme.
A puja was conducted before the gates were lifted.
