Jagtial records highest temperature

Karimnagar: Extremely hot and dry weather prevailing for the past few days has claimed more than 10 lives in the united Karimnagar district.

According to Meteorology Department (Met), highest temperature of 47.5 degree Celsius is recorded in Dharmapuri mandal of Jagtial district, followed by Velgatoor with 47.4 degree C, Metpalli and Medipalli mandals with 47.3 degree C and Ramagundam of Peddapalli district has recorded 47.3 degree Celsius.

The Met department also said that heatwave conditions are likely to prevail till May 31 in all the districts of Telangana. The heat wave condition and scorching heat has prolonged for the last one month due to north-easterly wind blowing over Telangana, which are normally hot in nature. Doctors has advised people to drink more water to keep themselves hydrated, prevent long term exposure from scorching heat and to wear cotton clothes.

They suggested the people to rush to the hospitals immediately if they found symptoms of heat or sun stroke like nausea, dry skin, dizziness and rapid breathing, they must be rushed to the hospitals for further treatment.
