Hyderabad: Expressing anger over the delay in the completion of modernisation works at the famous Yadadri temple, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday instructed the officials concerned to complete the works in two or three months.

The Chief Minister is planning to perform Maha Sudarshana Yagam at the temple in February. Accompanied by Endowments minister A Indrakaran Reddy and Education minister G Jagadish Reddy and senior officials, KCR visited the temple town and reviewed the progress of the works.

Braving scorching heat, the Chief Minister visited every nook and corner of the main temple and enquired the construction activity at the queue lines, prasadam counters, installation of new idols, etc.

He also visited the water pond developed for the conduct of Teppotsavam from the next year. The officials informed the Chief Minister that the work on the main temple was near completion and other works taken up out of the temple are in various stages of progress.

He wanted the completion of construction of cottages and all other infrastructure facilities before his Yagam. So far, the government had spent Rs 235 crore for the development of the main temple and Rs 692 crore on land acquisition and other development facilities at Yadadri.

Instructing the Roads and Buildings minister V Prashant Reddy to review the works every week, the Chief Minister asked the officials to take up the cottage construction on a war footing as the corporate companies are coming forward to donate nearly Rs 400 crore.

He also wanted widening of the roads in the temple town. KCR told the officials that nearly 3000 each Ritwiks, Veda Parayanadarulu and assistants will take part in the Yagam. Veda Pandits from 45 countries and Chief Ministers and Governors of various states will also be invited to the Yagam.
