Hyderabad: TRS working president K T Rama Rao on Friday took the meeting of party's Rajya Sabha member D Srinivas with BJP Chief Amit Shah lightly. He was replying to a question during an informal interaction with media here at TRSLP office on Friday.

Rao said that he had no idea about the meeting of D Srinivas with Amith Shah. May be he met Shah because he was the Home Minister of the country, said KTR. He refused to respond on the comments of D Arvind, who said there was no scope of KTR becoming chief minister after 2023.

The TRS leader opined that there is a crisis of issues for the opposition parties and hence they were opposing even the construction of new Secretariat and Assembly buildings. He also alleged that there is crisis of leadership in the opposition parties particularly the Congress.

When asked about chances of BJP in municipalities, KTR said that it would be known after the results. They are jumping after winning four seats in Lok Sabha. What happened after that, TRS swept the local body elections, he recalled adding that the BJP leaders are looking at TRS candidates who could not get ticket.

The TRS working president said that the membership drive was going on well in the districts and so far the membership has touched 35 lakh and Rs 7 crore has been collected.

Talking about the municipal elections he said that the MLAs would be responsible for the party's performance in the civic body polls. The MLAs would select candidate and at places where there is no MLA, the in charges would be taking the responsibility, he added.
