TRS working president’s angry outbursts come close on the heels of a flop show of public meeting in Hyderabad recently

Hyderabad: Stunned over the public meeting at LB Stadium turning out to be a flop, TRS working president K T Ram Rao summoned the party corporators and told them in no uncertain terms to "perform or perish." The public meeting was to have been addressed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Talking to corporators at Telangana Bhavan, KTR urged the Corporators in the GHMC limits to strive for the victory of the party candidates in the elections. He directed them to conduct door-to-door campaign and explain to the people about the welfare and development activities of the TRS government.

The TRS leaders discussed on the strategy to be adopted in the Lok Sabha elections. KTR asked the party corporators to make efforts for the victory of the candidates and ensure that the contestants secure greater majority than those elected the Assembly election.

Since only seven days are left for the end of the campaign, the party leaders should intensify the efforts to reach out to every voter.

People of the city had blessed the party in the Assembly elections, take it as inspiration and work for the success of the party in the Lok Sabha elections, he said.

KTR said the people were satisfied with the functioning of the TRS party and the party activists only need to request electorate to vote for the party and it would help the party win, he said.

"Speed up the door-to-door campaign. Party will win 16 seats in Telangana State and we should get highest majorities in the city constituencies such as Chevella, Secunderabad and Malkajgiri," said Rao.

He said the corporators performance would be gauged based on the number of votes they would garner in their respective divisions. He asked the corporators to give the list of booth committees and in-charges to the general secretaries.

He also asked the corporators to meet the residential welfare associations, apartment committees and take up campaign. He wanted the corporators to take the responsibility of making the road shows a success.

The corporators should coordinate with mayor B Rammohan in campaign. Along with Mayor, MLC M Sreenivas Reddy, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, party Secretary Pochampally Srinivas, senior leader Viplav Kumar were also present in the meeting.
