Hyderabad: Returning officers of the Zilla Parishad and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies continue to receive hundreds of nominations for ZPTC seats and thousands for the MPTC seats in the third phase of the Rural Local Bodies (RLB) elections on behalf of the major political parties.

According to the report of the State Election Commission for 161 ZPTC which go to polls in the third phase, about 1,510 nominations have been received. Among them 417 belong to the Congress and 552 to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

The TRS and the Congress have been facing the rebel trouble as three candidates on the average have filed papers for the 161 ZPTCs. In Nizamabad district about 25 Congress candidates have filed papers for 11 and 42 filed papers for 11 seats in Nalgonda district.

In Nalgonda district about 59 TRS candidates have filed papers for 11 and 36 filed papers for 8 seats of Suryapet district. In Asifabad district about 24 filed papers on behalf of the TRS.

As far as MPTC elections are concerned, for the 1,738 seats about 10,167 nominations have been received.

On behalf of the TRS about 4,173 filed papers whereas about 3,084 filed papers for the Congress. Even for the MPTC seats also three candidates on the average have filed papers for each seat.
