A man attacked his wife with a sickle and injured her limbs suspecting of having an affair and later killed himself here on Sunday night at Jagtial.
A man attacked his wife with a sickle and injured her limbs suspecting of having an affair and later killed himself here on Sunday night at Jagtial.
According to the police, Rai Lakshman (45), a native of Maitapur village in the district got married to Swaroopa (39) 20 years ago and has two children. Lakshman moved to Dubai to earn their living and used to visit family once in a while. Lakshman had a financial dispute with his wife last year and also suspecting her of having an affair. He also threatened to kill her.
Lakshman who had gone to Dubai last month has visited home recently quarrelled with his wife and in a fit of rage, he attacked her hands and legs with a sickle. Hearing her screams, neighbours rescued Swaroopa and shifted her to a hospital.
Meanwhile, Lakshman fled the scene and later hanged himself in his house. Based on the complaint lodged by Swaroopa's son Rakesh, the police registered a case and are investigating.
