Nara Nageswar Rao was selected for “National Role Model Award - 2019” for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities by the Government of India.

Hyderabad: Nara Nageswar Rao was selected for "National Role Model Award - 2019" for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities by the Government of India.

He has been selected for National Award under Role Model category for his noble service rendered in protection of disabled' rights, equal opportunities, Welfare and Rehabilitation for Differently Abled persons for the past 20 years.

Every year Department of Disability Affairs, Government of India, announces the National Awards for individuals and organisations for Empowerment of people with Disabilities.

These awards will be handed over by President Ram Nath Kovind at Vignan Bhavan in New Delhi on the occasion of International Day of Disabled on 3 December.

Nageswar Rao is also recipient of prestigious National Youth Award, Best Individual National Award, Hellen Kelen Award and other prestigious state awards in recognition of his noble service rendered to the disabled community.

At present he is a member, Child Welfare Committee, Ranga Reddy District, Member for Telangana Rules Formulation Committee on Rights of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and Core Committee Member on SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) of Telangana Election Commission.
