Karimnagar: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) The official spokesperson Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi

while speaking in the Parliament, had indirectly accepted that it is the Congress, which has given separate Statehood status for Telangana region.

Speaking to the media at R&B Guest House here, K Venkat Reddy alleged that it is not correct to speak wrong about late Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, who participated in the freedom fight and has been elected as

the Prime Minister of India for three consecutive times and played a key role in building the nation.

"It has become evident to the people of the country and to the Telangana State that it is the Congress, which had given the separate Statehood status for the Telangana, but not the BJP or any other party. Narendra Modi himself told in the Parliament that it is the Congress, which had closed the doors of the Parliament and Television sets before introducing the bill of Telangana State," he stated.

Venkat Reddy coming heavily on the TRS, said after winning the municipal elections, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at a press meet announced that the government is going to increase house and property

tax. And even electricity department is collecting the bill for 40 days instead of 30 days by burdening the people with Rs 6.9 paisa for every unit.

He demanded the government to collect a tax of Rs 100 on water like earlier and for the the water that would be supplied under Mission Bhagiratha project. Otherwise, the Congress will launch an agitation against the government to teach it a fitting lesson.

The TPCC leader criticised that KCR is CM for only Chintamadaka village and had sanctioned 700 vehicles, which is not correct. The government is not focusing on sanctioning Rythu Bandhu schemes to the farmers and is not interested in waiving off farm loans. The farmers must think wisely before casting their vote to the TRS leaders, he urged.

Congress leaders Y Manjula, Rahmath Hussain, Makka Bhaskar, Vilas Reddy and Nooruddin were present along with others in the press meet.
