As many as 16 gates of Sriram Sagar project were opened on Monday as the inflow to Sriram Sagar project is increasing. 62,410 cusecs of flood water is coming into the project from upper reaches.

Nizamabad: As many as 16 gates of Sriram Sagar project were opened on Monday as the inflow to Sriram Sagar project is increasing. 62,410 cusecs of floodwater is coming into the project from upper reaches.

16 flood gates were lifted and 50,000 cusecs of water is dumped into lower Godavari. Officials released 2,500 cusecs of water to LMD through Kakatiya Canal.

The water level at Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP) at 3 pm on Monday was 1091 feet. The capacity is 90.314 TMCs of water and the average water inflow was 62,410 cusecs.

The out flow is 50,000 cusecs from RC Gates, 5,500 cusecs from escape gates and 2,500 cusecs through Kakatiya canal. The total outflow is 58,000 cusecs.
