Nizamabad: Threatening the Gouda community members either to pay Rs 4 lakh else face expulsion, Village Development Committee (VDC) members staged a sit-in dharna at Goud community chief Karan Goud and his family members' houses in Oddepally village on Friday.

The Gouda people of the village has to pay Rs 4 lakh per annum to VDC members. But they couldn't pay the amount due to lockdown for the past two months. Despite the Gouda people request to give some time to pay the amount, the VDC members demanded amount then and there.

The members sat before toddy toppers' houses announcing that they will not budge from there unless they get amount.

Though the Telangana government gave exemption from excise to toddy toppers but the VDC members are demanding them to pay Rs 4 lakh per annum in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts.
